Sportsmanship...............   Have A Good Attitude

Excellent sportsmanship begins with a positive attitude.  The challenges of competition can stress player's, coach's and parent's attitudes.  Learning to control ones attitude can be an incredibly difficult process, especially in the midst of a game, battle, confrontation or debate. However developing the trait of good sportsmanship can provide value long after one's playing days.

"One man practicing sportsmanship is far better than a hundred preaching it."  Knute Rockne

Integrity..................  Do The Right Thing

Integrity comes when character it tested:  keep true and never be ashamed of doing what is right.

"Don’t be fooled by the lie that somebody will tell you -- that you’re a great athlete because of what you do on the field. That’s not true! You’re great because of what you do off the field and you bring that integrity onto the field."  Ernie Sims Jr

Teamwork.............  Respect Others

Teamwork begins with individuals respecting their teammates whether on the field, or in the real world.  Once they respect one another, the strength of a team beigins to emerge. Teammates can then begin to work together, share together, endure together and succeed together.  Eventually they share the powerful benefits that could only come through individuals acting together toward the pursuit of a common goal.

Former NFL football coach Vince Lombardi said it another way.  "People who work together will win, whether it be against complex football defenses, or the problems of modern society."
